Babywearing workshops

 Come and learn the art of babywearing at Gracelands Yard!
The workshop is led by Jin-Hee Choi, a babywearing instructor, certified from Trageschule in Dresden, Germany.
This workshop teaches you different ways of carrying your baby with a long
piece of cloth (wrap).

 

*Do you have a colicky baby?
*Do you fear using the public transport with a buggy?
*Do you have a toddler look after and you need to be hands free?
*Do you suffer from postnatal depression?
*Does your baby want to be held all the time?*Do conventional slings give you aches?

If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, you can benefit from

Babywearing for beginners
Babies up to 8 months. Expectant parents welcome 
You will learn two  variations of front carries and will try different slings such as Mei Tais, Ring Slings and pouches.

On mama's back
Babies from 6 months (When they have a neck control)
You will learn a back wrap cross carry.
This workshop is only allowed to people who has used front carrying methods with wraps.

Train with the Trageschule in London!

We are very pleased to announce that Ulrike Hoewer of the Tragsechule, Dresden will be travelling to London next year to begin teaching her Babywearing Consultants course.


About Babywearing Consultancy:
Becoming a babywearing consultant is a serious and special undertaking. You will be working with new parents during a very special time in their lives. Creating an inviting environment where parents feel empowered, ready and able to learn new skills, is the task of the babywearing consultant.

We share our knowledge sensitively, in a way that respects the individual;
We support parents to make their own choices;
We follow a clear and concise method to teach babywearing to ensure physical and emotional wellbeing for both parent and baby.
About Ulrike Hoewer:
Ulrike is a registered nurse and breastfeeding counsellor; she holds a masters degree in Philosophy and is mother to 4 children with over 12 years babywearing experience.

She has been working with new parents, teaching them the skills of babywearing for 10 years.

About the course:
The Basic course takes place over two days and is very intensive. During the course you will draw upon your own knowledge as a parent and babywearer, as well as learn more about the up-to-date scientific and medical research that supports babywearing as a positive childrearing practice for the human animal.

You will also gain the concise practical skills necessary to teach complete beginners to wear their baby confidently and comfortably.

After completion you will gain membership of the network and will have the necessary skills and knowledge to begin holding consultations of your own.

To gain full certification a further Advanced course, plus an examination course are required.
